First_Tracks_logo_blau1Overview ranking criteria:
− Number of participants
− Support of resort
− Longevity of the event
− International and national recognition
− Perceived professionalism of organizers
− Infrastructure
− Side events
− Accommodation and packages for riders
− Media coverage
− Prizes and prize money
− Feedback of the rider through online questionnaire

The ranking criteria for the allocation of Couloirs are the number of participants, the support of the resort, the history and the spirit of the event, the national and international recognition, the perceived professionalism of organizers, the infrastructure, side events, accommodation and packages for riders, media coverage, prizes and prize money as well as the feedback of the rider through online questionnaire. Through these criteria a fair and international FREERIDE TOUR can take place.

Why all these criteria?
One of many goals of the FEERIDE TOUR is to minimize limitations. The FEERIDE TOUR should be open to a variety and diversity of events on the one hand. On the other hand, through these ranking criteria we don’t only take price money and starting field into account, but also the effort, which is put in the event and in the sport of freeriding. Through this concept, a smaller event with less prize money, but better professionalism of organization and full media coverage, is able to reach a high Couloirs ranking.

Examples:

5 Couloirs: highest ranking, highest point-system
Big starting field, lots of prizes, almost perfect organization, funny side event, good care of riders, high recognition, well done press work …

1 Couloirs: lower ranking, less points reachable
Small starting field, little prize money if any, no media coverage, no accommodation packages…

Information for event organizers:
Every organizer can make a proposal for its ranking in the event registration. In the season 2007/2008 the highest ranking achievable ranking is 3 Couloirs to leave room for improvement in the following years.

Information for riders:
You can give a feedback to every competition in the online questionnaire
