Inferno

The first snowboard discipline ever: All riders start on the top of a mountain, no gates, and no rules, first on the bottom wins. This Discipline is known under several Names: Inferno, Chinese Downhill, Longboard Classic, Wild ride, Top to Bottom Freeride, etc. The classical Chinese Downhill is not a common discipline anymore, the discipline changed a little bit.
More popular Chinese Downhill/Inferno like events are now:
Inferno and Chinese Downhill:
All riders starts already strapped in there bindings on the top of the mountain together on a course with safety gates to pass, first over the finish line wins.
This Discipline is mostly hold on 2 Laps, they will be added together and first overall gets the crown.
Freeride-Cross / wild ride and simulair ones
This is quite similar to the Inferno-style and mostly by the Organizers named as well as Inferno . The difference is that the riders will start not all together. They start instead in a group of 8-10 out of a gate on a course with safety gates. On some of that event will be a time track, on others is it boarder cross like (vertical extreme as example). It’s a knocking out system, the first 4 goes to the next round until the final.
Longboard Classic Style Freeride (goes under Inferno Style)
This is a discipline started in 1999 by a new event idea from Rad-Air Snowboards, called Longbaord Classic. This event is now growing big and standing alone, organized by “A new Day”. Several other Events copied this event Styles: They are Inferno like events, but instead of staring strapped in ready to ride do the riders start all together with there boards in there hands. The riders have then first to run 100-300m on the snow before they can get into there boards and ride down to the bottom (on a course with or without safety gates). First rider over the finish line wins
